Tips for Reading With Your Child

At Home

Each night your child will bring home a book to share with you. They are excited to share their success in the journey of reading. Please remember to let them use what they know to read. When they are stuck on a word remind them to use their strategies.
*Get the word started.
*Think about what makes sense.
*Start over at the beginning of the sentence.
*Look for parts you know.
*Check the pictures.
*Check to see if it looks right.
